New Turing phone Cadenza will have dual CPU, 12GB Ram, 60MP Camera, 1TB storage and other unbelievable specs

The Internet is full of lies, even so, to believe when we get deceived by pretentious fanboys who don’t hesitate to confidently pull out some unbelievable facts or information for us to digest. If it wasn’t the official statement from the Turing Robotic Industries (TRI), we could never have believed that someone is actually working on the specifications this insane.

A couple of news websites shared the same bafflement when they heard that Turing is working on a new smartphone with specifications so unrealistic to believe. The TRI CEO & Chief Architect, Steve YL Chao, sent a newsletter email highlighting the ‘blueprint program’ for their next Turing phone “Cadenza” after finishing up the development and delivery of world’s first liquid metal mobile phone.

TRI is embarking on another challenge to build the unimaginable. – CEO

If the company actually succeed to pull this off, it will undoubtedly become the best smartphone in the world. Needless to say, it has the potential to disrupt the mobile industry. So, what is it that everyone lost their mind to? Well, it has to do something with their claim to carve unimaginable into reality; and in their own words, “bringing the Turing Phone Cadenza from the future to the present.”

Turing phone cadenza specifications 2x Snapdragon 830, 60MP Camera, 12 GB RAM and 1 TB Storage

For instance, how do 60MP camera and 2x256GB internal storage with 2x256GB microSD (Total 1TB Storage) slot sound to you? and, What about 12GB (2x6GB) LPDDR4 RAM? If that’s not all, the smartphone is promised to ship with two Snapdragon 830 that has 16 beautiful Kyro cores, which is not actually on the market yet.

If you are starting to ache from all these specs, then what’s next will push you towards borderline insanity. The camera setup comprises a total of 60 MP using a quad sensor array for the rear, and the front camera will have a dual 10MP sensor setup to deliver a 20 MP front camera experience.

The company wants to power this with a 2400 Graphene power cell battery mated with a 1600 mAh li-on battery and a Hydrogen Fuel Cell (umm … Yeah!). The battery setup will deliver a total of 100wh of juice. The phone will also offer a dual-dual SIM card slot setup, which means you can use four SIM cards at the same time. TRI has not confirmed that you can make four calls simultaneously, but you probably can.

It would be interesting to see how they manage to lower down the total weight of the actual final device with all these extra dual setup modules; I bet it’ll weigh more than 250g. The company is aiming to release this mind-boggling smartphone in 2017. So, we will find out pretty soon if it is actually possible to pull out something like this.

We’ll admit, it’s honestly like someone at TRI just put together a spreadsheet of buzz words and the Ridiculous collection of specs just to see what they can play with. If this was faked, then it was very well-executed.

  • This tiny glass disc has storage capacity of 360TB (That’s 368,640 GB!)

This tiny glass disc has storage capacity of 360TB (That’s 368,640 GB!)

Have you ever heard of ‘time capsules’? Well, it just got a serious upgrade!

Researchers at Southampton University in the UK developed a tiny glass disc that can store data up to 360TB (that’s 368,640 GB of data) which can be preserved for 14 Billion years. Yes, you heard it right!

The technique uses femtosecond laser pulses to write data in the 3D structure of quartz at the nanoscale. These pulses can write data in three layers of nanostructured dots separated by 5 micrometres (that’s 0.005 mm).

The team behind the new 5D discs says these discs could be most useful for institutions who deal with large archives: libraries, museums, and anywhere else extensive records are kept (like a Facebook data centre).

So where do the five dimensions come from? First there’s the three-dimensional position of each dot within the layers, and then the extra dimensions are the size and orientation of the dot. The nanostructures created by the technology can be read using an optical microscope in tandem with a polariser (a filter designed to block specific polarisations of light).

The team has now written a series of major works to small glass discs— including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Newton’s Opticks, the Magna Carta and the Kings James Bible. They also point out that the data is extremely stable: It could endure for as long as 13.8 billion years at temperatures up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Selecting the right laptop just during purchase can be quite hard, but knowing what is coming up beforehand can be quite helpful towards making the right choice. Here is the roundup of the some of the best upcoming laptops of the year.

The Dell 9343 seems to be the beacon of hope in a world full of substandard windows laptops. It is a rather compact machine, promising to outdo its competition in most of the specs. With a 13.3 inch screen, it comes with an almost borderless display, I processor, 4GB of ram coupled together with 128 GB of STA-SSD hard disk. For those looking for higher ram and storage, two more variants with these upgraded specs are also available. However, it comes with a soldered and non-upgradable Ram.

Rather unheard of yet changing into an extremely sought after manufacturer; the Razer Blade Stealth is one of the perfect machines out there. With an aluminum chassis only 0.5 inches in thickness and 2.75 pounds of weight, it packs in a configuration of i7 CPU together with 4K touch display. It can be thought of as an ultrabook-cum-gaming laptop, for all you will need is the Core graphical amplifier (sold separately) in order to make it the ultimate gaming machine.

The LG Gram was announced at CES 2016, and many found it hard to distinguish this from the new MacBook. With a 15.6-inch display, options of Core i5 or i7 processor and a full HD display, it runs Windows 10 along with 8GB of RAM. Internal storage options include 256 and 512 GB variants. LG is, however, still keeping this seemingly mean machine under wraps and have not revealed as to when will the Gram actually come out.

Tablets and hybrid laptops have been all the rage in these last few years, and Samsung has been trying to take on its competitors since then. With the TabPro S, it sure is looking to make a nice entry into the laptop-cum-tablet segment. It is not only super slim but super light as well- especially when you consider it comes with a 10.5-hour battery life and is powered by a 6th generation Intel Core M dual-core processor. Not bad at all, especially along with a 12 inch Super AMOLED 2160 x 1440 display. It is expected to come with 4GB or Ram and 128/256 GB storage.

    Lenovo Yoga 900S

The Lenovo Yoga is what the manufacturer chose to begin its 2016 lineup with- a 12.8 mm thin laptop weighing less than a kilo. Yet, they have managed to pack it with 12-inch QHD screen, a 10.5-hour battery life and a 360-degree hinge that allows to completely flip the screen to get a tablet. With Intel Core M processor and a design that looks to be a competitor to Apple, Lenovo is for sure trying to make this one as its first MacBook beater!

  • Commodore launches a new smartphone; who are they actually?

Commodore launches a new smartphone; who are they actually?

A new smartphone is launched in the market with pretty mediocre specs, which is Meh! for most of us. The company that launched this new device — Commodore is unknown to me, as well as most of the people who wasn’t born in the 80s.

Commodore may seem like an unknown name in the industry, it is a Guinness World record holder. The company was included in Guinness Book of world Records for being a pioneer in selling single Computer model of all time, which was the only success they could achieve.

    z 00164

The company went bankrupt almost 20 years  ago, forcing them to back away from the Industry. Nobody ever expected that the company will be able to make a comeback, that too after more than 20 years.

Fast forward to 2015, Commodore launched PET based on their 1977 PET computer in hope to get back into the game once again.

    z 00161

PET is powered by 1.7GHz Mediatek 64-bit Octa core processor with ARM Mali T760 GPU for graphics. It is packed with 3,000 mAh battery, 13-MP read camera with Sony sensor and 8MP front camera with an 80-degree wide angle lens.

The smartphone has dual Sim card slot and support 4G connectivity. On the software side, it runs Android Lollipop 5.0. The phone will be available in two variants – 16GB storage/2GB RAM and 32GB/3GB RAM. The former costs around $300 while the latter will cost $65 more. The phone will be available in a variety of colours, such as white, black and classic biscuit-beige.

Commodore will release PET  in Italy, France, Germany, and Poland later this week. The company is planning on expanding to international markets soon.

  • How Does the ZTE Axon Compare to Other 2015 Flagships?

How Does the ZTE Axon Compare to Other 2015 Flagships?

When people think of ZTE, they don’t consider them a top competitor, but surprisingly the company is the fourth highest-selling smartphone manufacturer in North America. ZTE has managed to create a large range of devices that are selling in truckloads, despite a much smaller marketing presence than a company like Samsung or Apple.

The ZTE Axon is another device by ZTE that has the potential to sell in large quantities. Whilst the device may not be getting a lot of buzzes, it definitely deserves a good, hard look. I’ll be comparing the ZTE Axon with other devices in a few different categories below.

    Hardware

    zte axon 2

Besides the Galaxy S6, which uses the incredibly powerful Exynos 7420 SoC, this year’s 2015 Android flagship lineup relies heavily on the Snapdragon 810. Unfortunately for LG, the G4 has the less powerful Snapdragon 808.

All flagships this year have 3GB of RAM, however, the ZTE Axon will have 4GB – this is obviously going to allow us to see an improvement in multitasking performance, although the scale of this improvement is currently unknown. As it stands, the jump to 4GB is a decent improvement for ZTE, but it should end up being the standard for high-end devices in half 2. For example, both the Note 5 and the OnePlus Two should come with 4GB of RAM.

The ZTE Axon has no microSD card and 32GB of internal storage and a decently sized 3,000mAh battery. Finally, the Axon has a 5.5-inch LCD 2560 x 1440 display. The 13-megapixel camera on the ZTE Axon seems to be able to produce on par results for a flagship smartphone as well.

In the hardware department, the ZTE Axon easily competes with all other devices, and will even be a relevant choice when paired up against any more upcoming devices later this year.

    Software

    zte axon 3

So far we haven’t really had the chance to see if ZTE have any cool software features up their sleeves for the Axon. First hands-on impressions suggest that the Axon will have a very Material Design themed interface, and, for the most part, the ZTE Axon will run and feel like stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, albeit with some preinstalled applications.

If you’re looking for some big software functionality, ZTE isn’t going to deliver, unfortunately. With that being said, the close-to-stock interface and high-end hardware should lead to a buttery smooth user experience.

    Price

    zte axon 4

The ZTE Axon has been announced as a smartphone that will go for $450 SIM free. Contract deals will be revealed once the device has been released. The $450 price point is a bit on the fence between “a really good bargain” and “not so much of a bargain.”

On one side of the fence, you’ll find the $700 SIM free Galaxy S6, the $650 One M9, and the $650 Xperia Z3+. Even LG, who are known to offer lower prices on their flagships, offers the LG G4 for around $550 SIM free.

Without delving deeper into it, this makes the ZTE Axon look like an absolute bargain, but there is another side to the fence.

For example, the OnePlus Two has been confirmed to cost under $450, so whilst pricing is still unknown, that’s going to immediately be less than the ZTE Axon and it is expected to include a Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM and decent features all-around. Another interesting 2015 device is the $300 ASUS Zen one – once again, this device will have a decent set of specs, including 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit Intel ATOM processor.

    What do we think?

At first look, the ZTE Axon seems like a bargain. Closer research reveals that this isn’t entirely true. For now, it’s hard to compare the ZTE Axon with other similar priced smartphones until we hear more about them.

So there we have it. The ZTE Axon will run smoothly, it will have high-end hardware, a great camera, good display, a great camera and the latest version of Android. The price tag is also a great talking point, even if it won’t be the best deal on the market.
