Transform your old PC into an Android Smartphone with Remix OS

If you’re looking for a way to drag your old vintage PC to 2016 then you’re in luck. Remember Jide’s Remix OS that was announced at CES this year? Well, the developer’s at Jide has just launched the 32-bit version of Remix OS, an addition to the 64-bit OS released earlier. Usually, the older systems have very low CPU power and Ram, restricting them to run any heavy applications or latest OS, including any version of Linux distros. The 32-bit Remix OS has been purposely built to breathe new life into these aging systems.

The fully features multi-window Android OS has every basic feature one would need to perform productive work, or even play some high-end games. Everything works perfectly well with a very neat and beautiful design, resembling the latest Windows 10 OS. The start button is located at the left corner of the taskbar which is situated at the bottom of the screen. Overall, the Remix OS gives a very clean experience while adding some very powerful features to Android OS.

The good thing about Jide’s approach is that the OS can be integrated into the system while still supporting all the Core Android features. That means access to the Google Play Store is inevitable, but with apps that can be resized, moved around, and flipped from one to another, in the same way, you might in Windows or Mac OS X.

Installation is a breeze. You simply need to download the setup file, run the program to write the OS to USB, making it easily bootable from BIOS. From there you can install it on your computer, just like you’d install any other OS.

Once installed you can treat your computer as a fully functional Android smartphone with amazing features that Remix OS has baked on top of the Android core.

CyberPower’s Fang Trinity Gaming PC is insanely powerful yet beautiful!

Cyberpower’s Fang Trinity Gaming PC has a unique design that we never saw before. It looks more like a futuristic space pod than a computer, but make no mistake, this is real PC.

The ingenious design packs these power components in three segments, which is connected through the central trunk. One pod contains the motherboard, CPU and cooler, another the PSU and most of the storage drives, and the final pod holds a full-size video card with three SSDs behind it. The segmented structure promotes modular design, which also allows it to be individually assembled by the user.

The shell is made using thick and heavy metal. Each pod cover actually weighs about 8 lbs.

Build quality, design, and execution are good. I’m concerned about the 90mm fan’s abilities and noise, rotating a hard drive on a 120* angle, and the general size and post-build accessibility. You won’t really be moving this around. The price is too high for most builders, but the same people who can afford a D-Frame would likely be interested purveyors of the Trinity. I am legitimately impressed by the vision for the Trinity and found its tooling to be well thought-out, despite the obvious price and mobility obstacles that limit the audience. Builders with a massive budget and an eye for the unique should be paying attention to the Trinity, especially with DeepCool backing it.

The overall user interface is so simple and clutter free that you don’t even need a home screen (neither physical or on-screen). You just need to navigate by swiping over an edge of the screen; open your favorite apps on the left edge, switch instantly between opens apps from the right and use the system and app tool bars at the top and bottom respectively.

If you are familiar with Ubuntu work environment, you must be pretty aware of the integrated notification system that provides information and notification about emails, messages and another application at one central notification center — Ubuntu edge, promises to provide the similar experience including the text messages, emails and social media posts.
